Funny these short stories are OK I bought this to support the auther I normally hate short stories.
Very funny stories about fishing and life along a river in Texas. Good insight into the human species.
Excellent entertainment filled with hilarity! Lloyd Tackitt has proved he's mastered tale telling in the humorous short story format with these excellent tales. His brilliant character development and down-home word weaving guarantees a chuckle or outrageous belly laugh at the most inconvenient time, an excellent purchase for any fisherman, or in my case, the angler's spouse.
My greatest fun was to flip randomly through the pages of this top quality paperback to find diverse characters from the shopaholic in "Danger! Danger!" to the grandparent's antics in "How Not to Catch Bait" and the determined grandson battling a Pro in "Granny's Teeth".
This book will not gather dust on my bookshelf. In addition, an unexpected plus, besides the hours of entertainment, the proceeds are going to Project Healing Fly Fishing, which benefits our Veterans.
If you love the outdoors and can appreciate the simple laugh or smile about life, take the time and enjoy, especially if you like fishing.. now I know what is the best cheese to fish with.....
Funny and nostalgic fishing tales.
This is a great read of mostly humorous, sometimes serious stories. The author has provided around 100 short stories with topics ranging from fishing with dogs to the size of Alaskan mosquitoes. The one where he fished with a ventriloquist dummy on his back is hilarious. Each story is only 2-5 minutes long.
I gave this book to my parents, who are died in the wool fishermen that can't navigate the river much these days. They absolutely loved it! I enjoyed a few of the stories myself and would recommend it to anyone that is passionate or has ever even enjoyed fishing as a hobby.
